Iceland has been an extremely popular destination in the last few years, so much so that you may think you already know a lot about this Nordic gem. But if you don’t visit the country you’d never get the real feel of this paradise & before you start planning we need you to know that if you cannot drive then you don’t have to worry at all!
The RoadTrip is designed in a way that everyone gets a chance to drive & if you’re good at it then you can even be the lead driver for your car.
Option of a Mini Bus for those who do not want to drive is also available.
Note :
• Inform us if you don’t know how to drive. Simple ?
•The roads are easy in Iceland & if you have driven in India you need not worry at all (offbeat driving is not required at all for this roadtrip)
• 6 out of 8 hotels/cottages/farmstays that are booked for your roadtrip boast about catching Aurora from their property so you might get lucky too as they are perfectly located! (Fingers crossed)

What to Pack :
Decathlon / Columbia is your one stop shop for all these essentials that you’ll need during your Iceland trip. Autumn time is going to be cold in Iceland so you need prepare your bag properly to make your journey smooth (Ask for pictures from previous trips if you want to see what people wear during Autumn season)
• Rule No. 1 is to Focus on layering
• One fleece jacket & One thick jacket
• Shoes with a good grip (prefer hiking shoes)
• Gloves (prefer waterproof gloves)
• Sunscreen + Sunglasses
• Powerbank & Universal Adaptor
• Sweater / Thermal
• Warm Socks
• Swimsuit for the thermal pools
• Woollen Cap / Skull Cap to stay warm
• Waterproofing is important so shop accordingly
You can ask for pictures or videos if you need any reference with regard to winter clothing but make sure you pack light because you also need to fit your suitcase inside your vehicle!

Day Wise Itinerary:
Day 1 Reykjavik: Iceland Arrival Day
• Airport to hotel drop service
• Reach your hotel in Reykjavik
• Meet your Co-travellers
• Evening is free for local exploration
• We will walk to all the city attractions
(Very close to the hotel)
• You can try a Local Bar/Pub at night
• Or maybe you can try the local cuisine
NOTE: shuttle bus will be provided to reach reach the hotel as mostly people would be arriving at odd hours (we will assist upon your arrival)
Day 2: Drive to Hvolsvollur
Enroute visit :
* Thingvellir National Park
(famous for Scuba between tectonic plates)
* Haukadalur Geothermal Area
* Panoramic Pit Stops
* Seljalandsfoss Waterfall
(carry something waterproof as we will go close to the waterfall)
Post sunset drive to your hotel & ask your Genie about Aurora prediction
Day 3:: Drive to Vik
Enroute cover:
* Skogafoss waterfall
* Sólheimajökull Glacier photo point
* Iceland Plane Crash on the Solheimasandur black sand beach
* Dyrholaey Peninsula view point
* Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach and Basalt columns
Start early today as you have a lot to cover & a beautiful farmstay is planned for tonight
Day 4: : Drive towards Hofn
Points covered today :
* Katla geopoint park
* Kirkjubaejarklaustur
* Optional Extra Activity : Ice Cave tour in Vik needs to be pre-booked (it is very commercial & full of tourists but if you wish to do it then we recommend you to book an early morning slot)
* Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon boating
* Diamond Beach
Drive to your hotel near the glacier
Day 5:: Drive to Egilsstaðir
Enroute visit :
* Vestrahorn beach (walk on water)
* Red Chair -Roter Stuhl auf Felsen
* Hvalnes Lighthouse
* Laekjavik Coast
* VIKING cafe will be your stop en-route
* Optional Extra Activity: Horseback Riding in the East
Overnight stay in Egilsstaðir
Day 6: Drive to Akureyri
Enroute visit:
* Egilsstaðir for breakfast & fuel
* Stuðlagil Canyon viewpoint
* Dettifoss / Goðafoss
* Lake Mývatn
* Námaskarð Pass
Start early today because we have a lot to see today.
Nights are perfect for viewing Aurora so keep your fingers crossed.
Day 7: Drive to Kirkjufell
Enroute cover :
* Hauganes Whale Watching Tour
(A beautiful experience that can continue for 3 hours)
* Grafarkirja church (The oldest Church)
* Panoramic view point
* Snaefellsnes area for night time hunting
Very good area to see Aurora tonight so keep your camera ready !
Day 8 : Drive to Reykjavik
Enroute cover :
* Kirkjufell
* Arnastapi
* Búðakirkja church
* Ytri-Tunga
* Arrive at hotel by afternoon
* Blue Lagoon Experience
(Swim / Bathe & rejuvenate in evening)
Perfect end at the lagoon to unwind after the long drive . Drive back to Reykjavik for your last night with your new friends
Day 9: Time for Goodbye Hugs
Drop the vehicle in the morning, check out & extend if your office allows or simply look for the airport shuttle bus to fly back home
Note :
• If there’s any tour that you’d like to try then we would recommend you to add one more day after the group trip is over.
For example: Scuba diving between the tectonic plates is extremely popular but it’s not something that everybody can handle and if it’s the ice caves then please note that it’s very touristy
• Airport drop on last day is not included because some travellers are likely to extend or depart at different intervals
• when we are away from the city we will have to rely on either super markets for some days
• staying away from the city increases the chances of catching Aurora Borealis & the properties chosen for you are known for the high chances of Aurora viewing
• farm stay (one night) is a high quality stay but the washrooms in the farm area are not given in your rooms
• Daily breakfasts are included at your hotels & we will need to squeeze in some time for lunch during our daily tours as restaurants are not available everywhere on the route
• Do not forget to carry some ready to eat packets even if you’re a meat person as we are going in areas where the restaurants shut down very early
